Having a selection of skills & techniques in your speaking toolkit that you can call on when required assists you in building your confidence, also your audience’s confidence in you. Confidence to speak up when in meetings, confidence to initiate a ‘phone call, and yes, confidence to stand up and present even when nervous, even when in your head you feel overawed because you now know how to ameliorate the physical, physiological & mental challenges of presenting.

Agenda

Focusing on your confidence in your speaking performance – as every time you speak, you are performing.
Here you will build fundamental and effective ‘speak performance’ techniques to help build your confidence in public speaking, and just as importantly, your audience’s confidence in you as a speaker, working on:
• Your initial contact, your ‘handshake’ with the audience
• Gaining your audience’s attention
• Maintaining your audience’s attention

What message are you trying to deliver? (Exploring impact of voice tones).
• Understanding the impact of different voice tones (whether face to face, virtually or on the ‘phone)
• How do you adapt your voice for different messages? Are you telling a story to illustrate a point? Portraying your enthusiasm? Or delivering a key message about the business?
• Matching your voice to the intended message of the presentation – what do you want the audience to feel as well as hear?

How do you engage your audience?
• How do you use stories and language to:
o Engage your audience
o Go beyond engagement to Engage, Compel, Haunt & Obsess your audience, enabling your audience to not only remember the content of your presentation, but also…
o Remember you How does this masterclass work?

• Introduction: Why does public speaking make you feel this way? Evolution has a lot to answer for…

• Masterclass: Working through practical exercises focusing on fundamental speak performance techniques. In a supportive, constructive, atmosphere you put these techniques into practice, building public speaking & performance skills

• Presentation rehearsals: deliver then refine aspects of your presentation either to screen or in the room with the benefit of immediate recording, playback & feedback.
